A small team of volunteers could help promote Birkdale & Ainsdale U3A by sharing news, celebrating group activities and showing the variety of opportunities available to members.

Aims

• Produce a regular newsletter featuring group activities, events and achievements.
• Write short, interesting articles for the U3A website.
• Take photographs of meetings, visits and special events, with appropriate consent.
• Encourage Group Leaders and members to contribute news, stories and photographs.
• Publicise forthcoming events, new groups and opportunities to join.
• Raise the profile of U3A and encourage new members.

Getting Started

We would like to Invite a few interested members to form a small team and agree responsibilities. These might include gathering news, writing articles, taking photographs, editing content and preparing the newsletter.

Contact Group Leaders regularly to find out about recent activities, forthcoming events and interesting stories. Encourage members to contribute short articles or share their experiences.

Agree how often the newsletter will be produced and how articles and photographs will be collected, checked and published. Liaise with the Committee and Webmaster to ensure information is accurate, suitable for publication and consistent with U3A policies.

Keeping the Group Going

Share tasks so that the work does not fall to one person. Plan content ahead where possible and welcome contributions from across the U3A. A friendly, informal approach can help make the newsletter and website informative, engaging and representative of the whole membership.
